  Sports Excellence Awards 2010
Dear Parent/Guardian,

Bromley has a proud tradition of celebrating the sporting excellence which is achieved within its Secondary Schools. This year the Bromley Achievement in Sport Awards Ceremony will be held at the Civic Centre on the evening of Friday 14th May 2010.

All successful students will be invited to attend the ceremony. Qualification is based upon the following criteria for “Excellence”:-

  • Full County or Regional representation, as an absolute minimum, during the calendar year 2009. (Minor sports and dance related activities will be considered on an individual basis). Please note that county squad membership alone is not acceptable and students must have represented the County/Region during the calendar year 2009.
  • Secondary school age during the calendar year 2009
The addition, we are asked to nominate students achievements through ‘Team Success’. The criteria for this category are County finalists or semi finalists in National competitions.

Each year, the evening concludes with the presentation of the Comer Cup (boys) and the Bromley Sports Council Cup (girls) for outstanding achievement during the year. Although there are no set criteria for this Award, it is expected that the two recipients will be performing at the highest possible level for their sport, with regular national representation.

If your son/daughter meets the criteria above (that is County standard or above) please fill in the details below.  Once this is submitted the Sports Department will assess the information and if successful your son/daughter will be nominated for the award.  All nominees will be sent to a committee where they will consider each application and you will be notified through the school via an invitation to the event.  In order to ensure that your son/daughter is included for consideration, please complete your applications by filling in the details below no later than Friday 26th February, 2010.

Thank-you for your support.

A Hirst
Head of Sports
